Pupils will leave this workshop with crystal clarity into what exactly bullying is and what it is not. This will reduce the time spent investigating false accusations. The children will also become aware of the impact their behaviour and words have on others, increasing their emotional skill of empathy. What Bullying is and what it is not
The pupils will comprehend what exactly constitutes bullying behavior and the conditions that need to be in place for bullying to occur. They will understand what does not constitute bullying and the pain that accusing bullying in the wrong can have.
Types of Bullying:
Pupils will recognise the different forms of bullying behaviour. 1. Emotional. 2. Verbal. 3, Cyber. 4 Physical
Inclusivity
We highlight the power of being inclusive and kind to others. We look at how our behaviour can impact how others deeply.
Our aim is to have pupils think about the consequences of their actions on others.
Challenging Justifications
"it was only a joke". "We were only playing a game." These are common excuses/ beliefs pupils can have when engaging in bullying behaviour. We challenge these with key reflective questions: Is everyone laughing? Is everyone having fun?
Together-Stronger
The pupils will come to understand the power of calling out negative behaviour. We will look at the most appropriate ways to help put a stop to any potential bullying behaviour.
