This workThis workshop will explore different categories of anxiety and their effects on the body and mind, helping pupils understand that anxiety is a common experience. Participants will also receive a toolkit with four practical, evidence-based strategies to manage and overcome anxiety and will allow children to explore and engage with the world around them, as well as form positive relationships.

Themes of The Workshop

Awareness

We will explore with pupils the different types of anxieties, including real vs. imagined, big vs. small, and long-term vs. short-term

 

Normalising

Through classroom discussions and relatable examples, pupils will understand that anxiety is a relatively common feeling. It can affect different people at different times in different ways.

 

Helpful and Unhelpful

We will uncover how anxiety can lead to helpful behaviours such as motivation. It can also lead to unhelpful behaviours such as avoidance.

 

Pupil Tool Kit

We will teach four evidence-based practical strategies that pupils can use to manage and overcome unhelpful anxiety. Twinkl has created follow-up activities that will help embed these workshop strategies
