Hip ‘N’ Healthy: Children’s Mental Health Week
February
This Children’s Mental Health Week, we’re joining the national theme “This is My Place”, helping every child discover their place in the world by understanding their emotions and what makes them feel good inside and out.
Through our live, interactive online megathon extravaganza, we will support thousands of P4–P7 pupils as they explore emotions through relatable examples from cartoons, sports, and pop culture.
Pupils will learn that their emotions are part of what makes them unique, that finding their “place” means recognising and expressing how they feel, and understanding how those feelings connect them to others. Twinkl follow-up activities will support children in practising these strategies within their own classroom and school environment, helping to reinforce learning and promote emotional safety and belonging.

Themes of The Workshop
Identify their Emotions
This workshop supports children in recognising and naming their emotions by helping them understand the signals their body gives. Through the theme This Is My Place, children explore how different places, spaces, and situations can make them feel safe, excited, worried, or calm, and learn that their emotions are an important part of how they experience and belong in the world around them
Understanding their Emotions
This workshop helps children explore their emotions and understand why they feel them. Through the theme This Is My Place, children learn to notice how emotions can present themselves in different ways and at different levels, and how their feelings may change depending on the places they are in, the people around them, and the situations they experience
ManagING their emotions
Pupils will be taught evidence-based, practical strategies to help them identify, manage, and overcome challenging emotions. Linked to the This Is My Place theme, Twinkl follow-up activities will support children in practising these strategies within their own classroom and school environment, helping to reinforce learning and promote emotional safety and belonging
