Hip N Healthy: Conquering P7 Worries

October / November

P7 can be a challenging time for pupils, with a host of new pressures: important tests, leading school events, competitive sports, and the big transition to secondary school.

Our ‘Conquering P7 Worries’ workshop equips pupils with the skills they need to tackle these challenges confidently, transforming anxiety into excitement and calm.

Delivered in Term 1, this workshop is ideal for pupils preparing for the SEAG test but is equally valuable for all P6 and P7 pupils—whether they’re sitting the test or not.

Themes of The Workshop

Swim Your Own Lane

Pupils will learn about the negative effects of constantly comparing themselves to others and focusing on external competition.

One of our key principles is to “swim in your own lane.”

We emphasise that while only one person can be ‘the best,’ everyone can be ‘their own best.’

Beat Down

Your P6 and P7s will understand how to take control in the lead-up to pressure-inducing events. They’ll also develop the ability to maintain emotional balance in stressful situations, enabling them to think clearly under pressure. We teach them how to lower and control their heart rate through the calming technique of square breathing.

Self-Talk

Your pupils will learn how to cultivate and sustain confidence in various scenarios they encounter. The workshop will explore the psychological skill of self-talk.

'Let it go'

This workshop will teach your children how to let go of worries and mistakes and recognize the positive impact this can have. They will learn how to recover from setbacks, both during and after a performance. Key strategies include the W.I.N. principle (What’s Important Now).
